Bold Concert Review welcomes considered pitches about the choices that shape live performances. We are interested in clear, specific ideas that help readers notice how a concert works, without assuming one style of music or one kind of audience is the norm.
What we welcome
Pitch essays, explainers, comparisons and pieces of concert history that examine set lists, pacing, transitions, interpretation or the shape of a performance. A strong proposal centres on one question and gives readers a reason to care about it, whether they attend concerts often or are learning how to listen more attentively.
Make the pitch concrete
Tell us the proposed subject, the main idea you would develop and the kind of reader the piece is for. Explain what makes the angle distinct from a general review or a list of recommendations. Keep claims proportionate to the material you can support, and flag any relevant relationship that could affect how a reader understands the piece.
How to send a proposal
Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A concise pitch is enough to start a conversation; a finished article is not required. We cannot promise acceptance, publication or a particular response time.
A concert is more than its biggest moment
The order, the spaces between pieces and the way performers shape a work all matter. We look closely at those choices without treating one kind of concert as the measure of all the rest.
